Information Technology

People that have small businesses - SOHOs - Small Office / Home Office Businesses - must wear many hats, including the hat of the Information Technology professional, dealing with computers and related technologies. Developing a website, for example, is building a computer system.

As a long time Information Technology professional, I am going to suggest some IT processes to make the IT hat fit better.

Some of the processes to be covered:

* Establishing a continuous improvement processes
* Creating a Business Continuity process
* Developing a test environment to assure quality
* Creating computer systems in versions
* Managing the production environment
* Publishing guidelines
* Maintaining source code.

For each process the format is similar.

* Set up the process, and then start to improve the process.
* Continuous process improvement is the key.
